I purchased a Christening gown for my son from Smocked Treasures in 2007. Being old fashioned, I wanted a gown for my son to wear. After searching the internet, I found Marianne's website. I fell in love with the Embroidered Cross Christening Gown and was amazed at how beautiful it was when I received it. Her work is wonderful! The slip underneath was embroidered with my son's name and his Christening date. It is truly a work of art. When my second son arrived, I contacted her to have his name added to the slip. For a VERY nominal fee, she did the extra work for me. She is one of the nicest people I have ever done business with. If you are looking for a gown that can be handed down for generations or even if you will just use it one time, this is the place to get it. Embroidered cross on the hat and optional brim with baby piping highlight this boys hat. The back ribbon casing can be adjusted in size as baby grows. Satin ribbon ties. Cross embroidery can be all white, all ivory or with pale blue accents (shown). Available in all sizes in white or ivory in the following fabric choices: Silk dupione (shown), satin, shantung, cotton sateen, linen batiste, Irish linen and cotton batiste. Also available with optional removable cotton liner to absorb the oils used during the baptismal ceremony. Irish accents may be added to all items on this website. **New cross designs now available to choose from!
