I purchased a Christening gown for my son from Smocked Treasures in 2007. Being old fashioned, I wanted a gown for my son to wear. After searching the internet, I found Marianne's website. I fell in love with the Embroidered Cross Christening Gown and was amazed at how beautiful it was when I received it. Her work is wonderful! The slip underneath was embroidered with my son's name and his Christening date. It is truly a work of art. When my second son arrived, I contacted her to have his name added to the slip. For a VERY nominal fee, she did the extra work for me. She is one of the nicest people I have ever done business with. If you are looking for a gown that can be handed down for generations or even if you will just use it one time, this is the place to get it. Hand smocked bodice with ribbon bow design & heart shaped embroidered bullion roses add beautiful detail to this cotton batiste christening gown with scalloped peter pan collar and embroidered eyelet, ribbon beading and pintucks on the hem. Gown available in all white, all ivory or with pale pink accents in the smocking & ribbon detail. Sleeves with baby eyelet lace and beading tie with satin ribbon. Back yoke has a double row of heart shaped buttons to adjust the size. The back skirt portion is open to allow for easier changings and the ability to spread the gown out fully for beautiful portraits. Includes matching bonnet with adjustable back ribbon casing and cotton batiste slip which can be personalized with baby's name and christening date. Available in short (shown) or long sleeves and your choice of gown length. Irish accents may be added to all items on this website. NEW** Optional embroidered cross can be added to the gown skirt (in the center near the hemline above the detail) in all white, all ivory or with pale pink accents. Eyelet laces may vary depending on availability and fabric chosen.
