I purchased a Christening gown for my son from Smocked Treasures in 2007. Being old fashioned, I wanted a gown for my son to wear. After searching the internet, I found Marianne's website. I fell in love with the Embroidered Cross Christening Gown and was amazed at how beautiful it was when I received it. Her work is wonderful! The slip underneath was embroidered with my son's name and his Christening date. It is truly a work of art. When my second son arrived, I contacted her to have his name added to the slip. For a VERY nominal fee, she did the extra work for me. She is one of the nicest people I have ever done business with. If you are looking for a gown that can be handed down for generations or even if you will just use it one time, this is the place to get it. Worn by the new baby and preserved for his/her future wedding day ~ great baby shower or gift for the new mother to be! With embroidered shamrocks, kelly green, white or ivory shamrock applique & scalloped venice lace or hemmed edges. Satin ribbon ties with adjustable back ribbon casing. Gift boxed with poem printed on cardstock. Comes with instructions on how to transform the bonnet into a hanky in your choice of sizes. Available in Irish linen, cotton batiste, linen batiste, silk dupione (shown), shantung or satin in white or ivory. Optional removable cotton liner to absorb the oils used during the ceremony.
